A card game of knowing when it’s your turn

I get tired; exhausted even! Although Enigmatic is one of my favourite parts of the week, there have been times where I’ve begrudgingly done work because I’m burnt out. Recognizing my own negative patterns has made me think about how I spend my time. ..

Have you found that remote work has been tough?  The transition happened through sheer force-of-will; but after months the "new normal" is now normal. The problems with working at a distance are starting to become obvious. There is the loss of personal interaction, coupled with a lack of socialization.

You can create more interesting staff parties with an Empathy Map - using personas to think about what people see, do and think can create a stronger, more enjoyable event for your team.

A survey by Interaction Associates showed that high performing teams have a deeper level of team trust than those who perform badly. It also highlighted that levels of trust have recently declined. So, how can you use trust to set your company apart and increase employee retention?

Without time working together, there’s no easy point to gain that trust. Sure, someone can be highly recommended, but until you work with them, the trust to be work as a highly performant team won’t be there.

In 2019, we teamed up with Ryan Creighton of "Nights Around a Table" to write a series of custom puzzles for Niantic and their Ingress Prime game

In this game, everyone only has a partial picture of the game. Thus, no single player can run the entire the game. Everyone has to get involved, and the team will win and lose based on their collective skills.

So what is a good method of having that conversation about values with the team? How can you start to create alignment? How can leadership show by example and reinforce the company values?

… to build on is new, original creative work. We’ve created a good body of work over four years. These works include original murder mysteries, developed one-act shows, scavenger hunts, puzzle sets, card games, and role-playing games. Our most popular events by far are the murder mysteries.

And that, for me, is one of the rewards as player too. You are taking part in a play. You have a character, whose struggling to achieve certain goals. And they'd all be easy if everyone else would just co-operate.

Simply by not speaking you are sending a message to allow open conversation.
